“Money is a kind of poetry.” -Wallace Stevens
workLIT is where creatives document, discuss, celebrate, and mourn the nature of modern work. Contrary to the stereotype of the soulless corporation, the work we do within organizations is full of emotion. Expressed through poetry, storytelling, and personal essays, we embrace the highs, lows, and messy middles of modern work/life. Our work life is LIT with material.

workLIT Laureate Program
A poet laureate (plural: poets laureate) is a poet officially appointed by a government or conferring institution, typically expected to compose poems for special events and occasions. Here in the United States, our current poet laureate is Ada Limon, and you can find a list of state-specific laureates here. There are also several examples of “writers in residence” in certain work environments, notably healthcare (MGH), with success in capturing the emotion of that vocation.
We believe that MANY workplaces might designate a workLIT Laureate to promote and practice the values of workLIT inside their organizations and even share with clients and partners through tools, talks, and workshops.
Want to craft a proposal for your organization to sponsor a workLIT laureate? Drop us a note at connect@worklit.net to get started.
